Visit to IVME-R

Prof. Nevsan Şengil (Dean of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics), Assoc. Prof. Tahsin Çağrı Şişman (Head of Astronautical Engineering Department), Assoc. Prof. Çetin Şentürk (Faculty Member in Aeronautical Engineering Department), and Asst. Prof. Özgür Kelekçi (Faculty Member in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department) visited to METU - Space and Accelerator Technologies Application and Research Centre (IVME-R) located in Nuclear Energy Research Institute (NUKEN) within the body of the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mining Research Institute (TENMAK). Being managed by METU Physics Department Faculty Member Prof. M. Bilge Demirköz, IVME-R aims to be a centre of expertise that will support technological development and help Turkey achieve its national targets on space and accelerators by minimizing the scientific, technological and economic foreign dependency, and to have an influence and share in the global market with original technologies. Within the scope of IVME-R Centre's "Particle Radiation Tests Creation Laboratory" project, the tests of electronic materials developed for space studies will be carried out in "METU Scattered Beam Line", which is Turkey's first Particle Radiation Test Infrastructure and located in Sarayköy Nuclear Energy Research Institute (NUKEN).
